Throne & Liberty has been gaining a lot of traction lately as it is about to release for global audiences, and even the Korean server has opened up to many other Asian countries. In this guide, we will be helping you get a head start against the rest by showing you some ways to get good gear during the early stages of your in-game career!
Easiest Ways to Get Good Gear
There are a ton of ways to acquire powerful pieces of equipment in the game, and a lot of these open up as you reach the higher levels. For the most part, you are guided towards such activities, but in case you need a quick outline, we’ve got you covered.
Method #1 – Crafting
Early on, one of the ways you can start getting better gear is by crafting through the armor & weapon crafter NPCs in towns. This method will require a lot of resources, though depending on the rarity, iit can be pretty easy to stock up on these.
The only thing of note is that crafting stuff will often require a lithograph of the same rarity as the item you want to create. For example, a green item will need a quality lithograph of the same type (e.g. a quality weapon lithograph for a weapon).
These can be acquired through various ways, including taking on contracts from NPCs in towns. These will typically require you to kill some mobs in a nearby area, so be ready to fight a bunch of stuff!
Method #2 – Questing & Lithograph Book Completion
The main quest can also give you a variety of weapons and armor of different rarities. For these quests, you will usually be given a choice between multiple gear pieces, so just pick whichever type of equipment you need at the time of completion.
Aside from that, the Lithograph Book accessible from the menu under the “Item” category will give you a chance to earn various rewards, including some gear pieces. Here, you can offer specific items to complete a sort of codex.
Upon completing all of the requirements for a single segment of the Lithograph Book, you can claim the reward for that part of the list. These will sometimes have a gear piece of a higher rarity than the items you offered, making it a decent way to upgrade your equipment.
This method ties in with the first one, which is crafting, as you will likely be making most of the items asked for by certain lists in the Lithograph Book.
Method #3. Dungeons, Contracts, & Open World PVE
Needless to say, dungeons and other PVE activities in the open world are going to be great ways to get gear. Although this is a fairly obvious method, you should always be wary of the expected rewards displayed for each.
If you are chasing for a specific item for your build, make sure that you are doing a dungeon that actually offers it as a potential reward. This applies to places like Syleus’s Abyss as well, so always check what the mobs there can drop!
Aside from just plainly doing instanced content and open world PVE, you also have the option of doing contracts from Contract Managers in various towns of the game. They can reward you with various crafting materials, but also some contract coins that you can spend on gear chests.
Keep an eye out for stuff like Weapon Selection chests, which will cost you a pretty penny. Contract Coin Merchants can also offer lithographs for crafting, if you prefer to use that method instead. Either way, contracts are just worth doing overall, regardless of whether you need gear or not.
Contract Scrolls can also give you quests that reward you with Abyss Currency. With enough of this currency, you can purchase even more gear chests of epic rarity. Such quests can also give you bags that can potentially give good gear.
Method #4. Guild Raids
Finally, one of the “easier” ways of getting gear is through Guild Raids. Your mileage may vary in this regard, as you will need to have a good guild as well to take full advantage of this feature.
This is more for those who are already relatively high level, though. Regardless, you should probably find a good guild as early as possible so that you can eventually participate in this activity and get some potentially good loot!
And that is everything you need to know in order to find or create some decent gear in the game, whether you are new or already getting to the higher levels. While you are here, check out this tier list for the best PVE melee weapon combinations in the game so you can find out what setup to use to start grinding as efficiently as possible!
