Vitalstones are one of the rarest materials in Throne & Liberty, so it can be hard to figure out where to get them and what they even do.

For one, they seem to come from the large whale-like Gigantrite that flies across the skies. You can only ever find Vitalstones from the Divine Beast Crystals it drops, after all. As for their use, they can seemingly heal the Gigantrite’s wounds as well!

In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about where to get Vitalstones and what they do.

Where To Get Vitalstones & What Do They Do | Throne & Liberty

The only place where you can get Vitalstones in Throne & Liberty is from the Divine Beast Crystals, which are related to the Gigantrite event. What the Vitalstones do is tied to the Gigantrite event, as well. As such, we recommend checking the Timetable in-game to wait for the event to start. To do so, click on the button shown above on PC to open the Timetable. If you’re playing on a console, press L2 + Triangle (PlayStation) or LT + Y (Xbox).

Timetable expanded

The Gigantrite event happens every few hours daily, and the Timetable will let you know when it will next start.

Alternatively, you can also check a more detailed version of the Timetable on the map screen. Just look for the Gigantrite event icon, which looks similar to a whale.

Gigantrite on map

Once the event starts, the Gigantrite will appear and fly through Solisium. You can track its movements on your map, as well.

Divine Beast Crystal

Unlike quests such as “Little Friend in the Sky”, you don’t need to board this Gigantrite this time. Simply follow it from the ground and it will randomly drop Divine Beast Crystals. When you notice one of them fall near you, interact with it to harvest a random number of Vitalstones!

What Do Vitalstones Do?

Now that you have some Vitalstones, it’s time to put them to use. As we mentioned before, their use is also tied to the Gigantrite event. You’ll now need to board the Gigantrite itself by using your Glide Morph to reach it from one of the boarding points along its route. These are the potential boarding points you can use depending on the Gigantrite’s randomized route:

  • Fonos Basin – The easiest route to follow, with the most boarding points. The Gigantrite will first pass by the Purelight Tower, then the Starlight Observatory, and finally the Veder Lookout.
  • Kastleton – The “in-between” route, it only has two boarding points. Starlight Observatory first, and then the Stonegard Castle Walls.
  • Stonegard – The hardest route to board the Gigantrite, as the Gigantrite flies out of reach for most of the route. However, you can land on it at the end of its route from the Stonegard Castle Walls.
Gigantrite's Wound

Once you get on the Gigantrite’s back, look for the interactable Gigantrite Wounds. They look like large boulders upon the beast’s back. Interact with them to use 1 Vitalstone and get a random number of Stellarite Elements, usually 2-4 per Vitalstone.

You can combine 10 of these Stellarite Elements and 10 Magic Powder to craft a Stellarite Chest. Open the chest to get 100 Stellarite consumables, which imbue your next attack with a 10% Damage Bonus.

That’s everything there is to know about how to get Vitalstones as well as what they do in Throne & Liberty! If you need Magic Powder to craft the Stellarite Chest, check out our guide on how to get Magic Powder.
